Utopia Research Institute Limited is a non-profit registered Charitable Research Institution with full tax destructibility for all donations over $2 and holds a fundraising Gaming & Racing License. Utopia is dedicated to promoting mental and physical health and education by supporting biochemical assessment techniques for many forms of physical and mental illnesses and behavioural disorders.

Utopia supports ‘choice’. A choice in the type of health services offered by our government, by our health care providers and by insurance companies. For example, Mental Health recipients have only two options offered by the health care system. Their first choice is to see a psychiatrist and be placed on pharmaceutical medication [shortening their life expectancy by 10 to 25 years] and the second choice is to see a physiologist [with limited visits on national health and very expensive once they have reached their quota]. Utopia does not consider this a ‘choice’ that builds resilience or good health for the future of Mental Health recipients, our community or our nation.

Utopia supports Pfeiffer programs developed by Dr. Carl Pfeiffer. The Pfeiffer program is a comprehensive Orthomolecular Medical Biochemical Assessment and includes advanced complementary nutritional treatment of a range of disorders such as behavioural disorders, ADD, ADHD, learning disorders and Autism as well as mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder as it has been shown to have a higher than average level of effectiveness.

Utopia supports scientific methodologies that assist in the adjustment of the biochemical system to promote natural recovery as significant improvements can be achieved in a high proportion of cases, often enabling conventional pharmaceutical drug dosages to be reduced and in some individuals pharmaceutical drug consumption can be phased out altogether.

Utopia supports the establishment of facilities in Australia for comprehensive biochemical assessment and complementary nutritional treatment and the training of medical practitioners in this scientific methodology.

But Utopia does not support Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention that use ‘off label’ prescribing of SSRI antidepressants for children and young adults. Research has shown that anti-psychotics have a host of seriously potential adverse side effects and may inhibit healthy brain development in children and adolescents; and the use of SSRI’s increases the risk of suicidal behaviour by young people.

And Utopia does not support funding from the pharmaceutical industry for any NGO or Government program or study that is a direct conflict of interest to the well-being of humans.

The Utopia Research Institute is comprised of an Executive Board, Peer Board and body of Interns. Utopia conducts a comprehensive Internship program and in 2010 our Internship level reached 160. Our Interns research issues such as early detection of health issues, the links between homelessness and mental health, the Science of biochemical testing and health rehabilitation strategies.
